SNOWMELTS

Snowmelt systems do exactly what the name implies, it melts snow (and ice). These small but useful packages are great for colder climates that accumulate snow and ice. Snowmelt packages push heated glycol solutions to piping embedded in concrete. Temperature transmitters are placing outside the facility in the open air and in the concrete. Once temperatures drop to a certain degree, the transmitter tells the pump on the snowmelt to start pushing the heated glycol solution out to the pipes to heat the concrete which does not allow snow or ice to accumulate. Snowmelts help with the cost of snow removal, extends the life of concrete, and creates a safer environment for the community.

There are multiple styles of snowmelts, some include plate and frame heat exchangers, others include shell and tube heat exchangers that use steam and some use water heaters that are suitable for the glycol solution. These packages have a small footprint, and some can even fit through a standard doorway with the use of a pallet jack.
