The Buck Stove Model 91 wood insert is the largest wood burning stoves manufactured in the United States. With an efficiency of over 80%, the Model 91 generates more heat while using less wood. The large viewing area and large heating capacity makes it a favorite not looking to minimize their view of the fire.

The 28 7/8" depth, how much of that is past the fireplace opening and sits on the hearth?

The insert requires a minimum distance inside of the fireplace of 15 ½”. 28 7/8”-15 ½ = 13 3/8”+/- on the hearth. That is the furthest point as well, generally the ash lip or the stove top. If you have any further questions please feel free to give us a call! Thanks

Can the stove pipe on model 91 be reduced to 6”

The model 91 stove or insert cannot be reduced to 6”. An 8” pipe is 50 square inches. A 6” drops down to 28 square inches, just above half the size. If you have any further questions, please call us and we will be happy to assist you.
