Buck Stove may have begun with simple pot-bellied stoves, but the company has branched out into a host of other lines, all with the same quality and reliability as the original products.
Buck Stove Vent-Free Fireplaces and InsertsVent-free gas logs or gas inserts are designated as vent-free because they don’t connect to existing vents within the home. Vent-free systems reduce the toxicity of exhaust gases so that they can be safely expelled into the room. An sensor monitors the oxygen level in the room to ensure oxygen levels remain satisfactory.
Vent-free fireplaces are easier to install than traditional vented fireplaces, in that there is no need to connect to a flue that carries exhaust gases to the exterior. Buck Stove vent-free fireplaces include a large fire box, gas logs, and multiple framing options, such as:
- Mantels – Options include (varies by model) light oak, dark oak and unfinished in classic, contemporary, and corner only versions. Solid metal finishes include black, almond, terra cotta, and vintage copper. One model includes bookcases in light oak, dark oak, unfinished, black, and cherry.
- Fireplace Screens – Includes wildlife and animal designs, like elk, deer, wolf, and dog.
- Face plates – 9-inch or 12-inch.
- Pedestals/Legs – Contemporary pedestal or Queen Anne legs.
- Fuel type – Most models are available in propane or natural gas.
Unlike fireplaces and inserts, freestanding stoves do not have to be installed in a fireplace opening but can be installed virtually anywhere in a room following state codes for installation. They can be set against a wall, inset within a wall, in a corner, or in an open area.
Buckstove models 74, 81, and 91 are particularly popular examples of freestanding stoves, with classic design, efficient heating, and simple operation. Heat-activated blowers – optional at additional cost - help send the warmth out into the room on these and several other models.
Most of the models are natural gas/propane-fueled, but the Buckstove Model 21 is a genuine wood-burning model that can be freestanding or installed as a fireplace insert, and we stock one model that burns both wood and coal.
